At Aktun Chen, we have an ecosystem where flora, fauna and its visitors coexist harmoniously. Through each of our activities, you will enjoy a close experience with nature and habitat conservation in a different way. For us it is vital that you have fun, learn and become aware in favor of the planet.
 
The word Aktun Chen comes from the Mayan, Aktun meaning cave and Chen well or cenote. We are a Mexican company founded in 1997 with the idea of showing the beauty of the Mayan jungle inside, beyond the subsoil. Our location is preferential since we are located in the heart of the Riviera Maya just 20 km north of Tulum. Our 400 acres of forest preserve a virgin ecosystem where man has not reached. We use less than 10% of the total land area in our mission to protect endangered flora and fauna.

The main idea of natural parks in Mexico is to protect and conserve the fauna and flora of the place. Nestled within the thick jungle to the northeast of Quintana Roo, Aktun Chen is a natural park in the Riviera Maya, which offers you various recreational activities in a wonderful natural environment full of vegetation, with a wide variety of endangered animals such as white-tailed deer, spider monkeys, collared peccaries, parrots, coatis, among other species that inhabit this area of the peninsula. We also have a wide variety of endemic plants and flowers.
 
For us it is vital to preserve our environment, therefore, we decided to take care of this space as a small ecosystem with the aim of increasing the reproduction of species characteristic of the region.
